Pierre, SD — Following the immediate success of the statewide anti-drug campaign with the slogan “Meth. We’re On It”, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem released a video encouraging state residents to “Shoot-up Heroin”.
The video opens with a flannel-clad Gov. Noem standing in the prairie holding a shotgun as she addresses the camera, “Like meth, heroin is destroying the lives of thousands of South Dakotans,” she states in an impassioned plea against drug abuse.
“That’s why it’s all our responsibility to shoot-up heroin” she says before turning away and firing her shotgun at a row of tin cans with the word “Heroin” scrawled across.
State officials confirmed that the total cost of producing the video was $13 million dollars.
